How to Prevent Post Nasal Drip Bad Breath
You probably already know that spicy foods, digestion problems, and poor oral hygiene can cause bad breath. But, did you know that post nasal drip can as well? You may be surprised, since even the term “post nasal drip” may seem confusing. However, post nasal drip bad breath indeed exists, and so do solutions.
What exactly is post nasal drip? This situation occurs when extra mucus trickles down from the back of your throat or nose. The cells that coat the sinus channels constantly produce mucus. However, within time mucus can sit on the lining of the throat and nose, resulting in symptoms, such as:
- sore throat
- cough
- halitosis
- post nasal drip
Several over-the-counter, nasal decongestants, and antihistamines (for allergies) are available for battling back against nasal drip. However, the problem with such products is that they can make your mouth excessively dry, resulting in post nasal drip bad breath.
So, are there any other remedies for nasal drip, besides medicines that you can buy at your friendly neighborhood drugstore? Here is a remedy that can naturally treat nasal drip. First, boil a saucepan full of water, then pour a cup of white vinegar into the hot water. So you don’t have to get too close to the water-vinegar mixture, inhale the steam. While inhaling the remedy for nasal drip, you may need to blow your nose from time to time.
Following a few minutes of this post nasal drip bad breath remedy, your nasal blockage and sinuses should have become cleared. This procedure works well because it kills bacteria in a natural way. The session should take about 15 minutes, and you should only do it within 2 to 4 hours, whenever necessary. The nasal drip condition should disappear within one or two days after using this home remedy. Try it!
